Love.Lust.Lost…. Wow. This whole collage of music let’s me know how much I love & bond with my fans. This project was extremely spontaneous. I had no plans of putting a collection of songs out soley revolving around the concept of love. Truthfully, Love.Lust.Lost. was supposed to be a video project from I’m Better Than You; my last mixtape featuring the songs: Friend Zone, Interlove & Again. The songs never transpired into & I was left with this title that lingered. I then wanted to put this out on Valentine’s Day but I saw sooooo many artists releasing tapes on that day, so I opted out. I then decided while I was in Atlanta to put this project out a month after Valentines. My ex created the artwork which is a famous Keith Hering drawing hugging by placing Mickey & Minnie ears on top of the figures. Check her out at Twitter.com/Mschicgeek
The music revolves around true instances that have happened in the past 2 years of my life regarding love, relationships, lust & of course heartbreak. I hope this synopsis will further break down my reasoning for each song.
1) Amatory Produced by Justin Rose
Ironically this was the last song created for the project. Justin Rose had sent over some beats for the project and this one was one of them. I realized I didn’t have an intro for the project. He had this EPIC beat in the folder and for 24 hours I pondered about what to do with it. I wrote some poetic lyrics for a singer to sing on it and I even spoke on the record. I took it all off and decided to add dialouge from the Matrix between Trinity & Neo on it. I cleverly placed them on the record and then wrote a verse that would describe how I felt at that specific time. So beautiful man. I dug deep for this verse.
2) Runnin
I was, I would say, 65% done and Steve-O came thru in the clutch with this Gil Scott Heron song. I’m a fan of GSH and this song hit so hard. His words were powerful and me being a cancer I run when I feel things aren’t going well. I felt it was the perfect record for me to elaborate on that emotion. I decided to expound on it and talk about how I love her, then hate her to the point that I want to leave her for awhile. But ultimately every time I do, I return begging to be around her. That’s what true love is to me. The thought of not being able to spend your life with someone. “Can I see you again?” My favorite line. Haha
3) Mal-Function
I was in a total writers block mode for about 2 weeks. No real inspiration of any sort. Steve-O sent me a folder of music and there was this jazzy hip hop beat in there. I always wanted to tell the story of Inception. I felt like the concept of someone invading your dreams was dope. How would I do it was the hard part. Ever since Black Tearz, I’ve had this storytelling itch. I watched Inception and decided to use the love story between Cobb & Mal as the centerpiece but focusing it around my experiences. I started off happy and in love but in dreams everything is surreal so you can hear me saying “the hallway gets longer” or “the stairs disappear” (which was an actual paradox in the movie) or even me slipping and falling. I wake up from that dream in another dream which was her and I in a bad mood waking up from an argument. Its more tense. At the end she tries to kill me by throwing a blow dryer in the tub. Before I can fall in, I wake up within that dream by myself. This whole verse is how I was in January 2010. Hurt and Drunk lol. Its funny because I like my endings to be shocking. So the concept is me calling her, which is Mal, but it was all HER dream! And me calling her woke her up, even though I felt exactly what I was saying. Incredible concept over a dope beat.
4) Time Of Our Life Prod By Melo-X
This song was recorded in November 09. Lol. Melo-X had put together this dope Ep sampling Maxwell and this was one of the beats. I just did it and recorded what I felt. I alllllllways wanted to put the song out but I have a bad tendency of holding on to music. That is clearly changing as you guys can see. This was how I was feeling around the time I recorded it. Video Game references, Me cooking, Punchlines & Honesty… I can see why my fans love this song so much. It is definitely one of my fav’s on the tape. I love the flow on it. Wish Maxwell can hear what I did to the instrumentation. Melo-X really killed this beat.
5) Iman Feat & Prod by Christian Rich
Haha! This record has soooooo many stories to it. Its like a 2 year long story to be honest. Christian Rich sent it to me at the end of 08! At this time, me and a specific model were friends. I will not divulge her name at this time. There is an alternate version about the song which I wrote it for her but I changed it because it just didn’t feel right anymore. Even taped her and I on the phone. I wrote it about my ex at that time and even had a taped phone conversation at the end of it. Due to her request, I took it off. I always viewed the end of the song to be the best. Not to mention I felt the term Iman meant Queen. The song detailed my initial meeting of my ex. Christian Rich is singing on the hook. They initially wanted Auto-tune.. But the voices on it now is amazing
6) A-Train Feat & Prod by Justin Rose
This song is relative to every human. Guy & Girl. We’ve all taken public transportation to a date and ran late. I tried to evoke all kinds of emotions that I remembered about public transportation rides to a 1st date. Justin did a great job instrumentally and on the hook. He wrote the bridge as well but he sounded drunk and as dope as it sounded, it still was off lol. I sang it over. I’m glad I did this record. Brings so much color and innocence to a 1st date. Also shows how excited people get over a possible mate. So many memories. I haven’t rode the train in a long time. I think I might after listening to this record over and over… If you guys see me on the A-Train, say whats up! Haha
7) Trinity
My fascination with The Matrix will never end. Ever. It is apart of me. I personally hated when rappers were comparing themselves to Neo & not fully grasping his role in the movie. The love story of The Matrix is the cornerstone of the trilogy and I had to document it. I never say girls real names that I’ve dealt with in songs. I try to keep some sort of secrecy to my life. Trinity is the name I used to define my other half at the time. The song was written in 09. And the first & last time I used Autotune. It seemed right to use it dealing with the The Matrix. I take The Matrix seriously… As you can see… Lol
8) Scattered
This is every lyric used to describe my love life in the past 2 years that’s been recorded. I wanted to do it cleverly and Jonathan did a great job with the way he mixed each song into each other. Some songs you’ve heard, some songs are obscure features and others are unreleased. But the theme came across the way I wanted it to. Not to mention the on-going Matrix quotes which I feel I am un-toppable with. Everybody has been asking about the Yea Yea joint with the sample… Precize produced it and HATED they lyrics I used on it. I wasn’t feeling the beat. But now it seems I’m going to have to do that song over for something in the future.
9) Isn’t She Lovely
Sunny Dilla had given me sooooo many beats and this was something I loved because I’m a big fan of Stevie Wonder. I wanted to do an actual song to it but I didn’t know how. So I figured I get a great friend of mine at the studio to argue with me about some things I went through in my past. The first version of this song has a different beginning. When I say “no no no no no” that was from the first take. The 2nd take is the beginning of the song before that sequence. We weren’t really kissing in the interlude. I was kissing my forearm while she laughed at me. Lol. I wish she would’ve been more into it as far as yelling more. But its cool, it came out great. Still waiting on dinner. Haha
10) Interlove
This is the one song that everybody loved off of I’m Better Than You. This song may have inspired the whole mixtape to be honest. So many people wanted the completion of this song. Making the beat was fun. Losing the session for it wasn’t. I had the singer come back in to do more vocals but it didn’t come out the way it was supposed to because of mic problems and nervousness I’m guessing. So I had to improvise. I was nervous so, I had some drinks and wrote my 2 verses. The beat fades out after the 1st verse. But if you know mickey factz, I am the loop king! We found some sections to replace pieces as well as raising levels. I then broke down the vocal arrangement to the lowest possible way I could. I even meshed addlibs to create newer addlibs. All of this was done to finish InterLove. I love this record and so do the people. O-M-G in the verse refers to scrabble earrings. “I was like yes!”
11) Again
Steven Linde had sent me this record in Jan 2010. There was a different hook on it with Autotune. The word Again was on it and I decided to write a new hook. I dug deep deep within my life and wrote some of the most heartfelt lyrics about heartbreak I could. It is one of my most honest records ever. That’s me singing on the hook and hitting that high note was a very difficult task for me to do. I always wanted to get another singer on it but it never happened. Preferably Chris Brown. This was on I’m Better Than You but I wanted to place this on the project because it evoked a specific emotion.
12) Ashes
Phoenix put together a great album. Rome was a song on there that I loved. The lead singers vocals are so inviting. It took me a long time to chop this into a listenable loop because if I remember it was a 3 or 3.5 sequence. But I got it done. The flow on the song is extremely unorthodox but that’s because of the loop. I wanted to add something special to the song which was the lighter in the background along with me smoking. It added to the beat and it was what I was feeling at the time. First version of this I was talking throughout the whole song. But I’m glad we decided to cut it out. This was on my Alpha project and I decided to bring it back to L.L.L.
13) Love.Lust.Lost
This is the title track symbolizing the whole project in full. Sampling Calvin Murphy’s beat, the one that Chris Brown took for Yeah 3x, lol. This was, if I’m not mistaken the first record I recorded for the project. To this day I HATE my vocals on the chorus. It just never sounded right to me. But I always loved the beat so I ran with it. The lyrics were definitely in reference to me but it also gave light to my personal definitions of the words. I want people to remember that no matter what, I can rap over anything. Not to mention, my words and flow just mesh better with these kind of beats. I won’t ever stop so say what you will! Ha!
Hope you guys enjoyed that!
Love.Lust.Lost.!
Working on 5 videos for the project. Mal-Function is DEFINITELY something I want to tackle!

What’s a tattoo like… It’s like fucking for the first time, you didn’t know what it felt like but you did it anyway. Then you went back for bigger and better things.
Ok so I am a Banksy fan and I know that some of you are too! But I’m sure some of you do not know that he is nominated for and Oscar for the documentary “Exit Thru The Gift Shop.” As part of the his Oscar “campaign”, he has been tagging all over LA!! The billboard has been taken down by CBS who…
A submarine which is believed to have been designed to smuggle cocaine to Mexico has been seized in Colombia.
The Colombian navy discovered the 31m-long (100ft) vessel which officials said was capable of travelling 9m (30ft) below water.
On board was sophisticated navigational equipment, which would have allowed the crew to sail as far as Mexico.
The officials said it could carry four people and up to eight tonnes of cargo - they estimated it would have cost about $2m to build.
